FIRST -- For the Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology
Welcome to the Online Triple Strange Lair!Team 1533 is a FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) team based in Greensboro, North Carolina. In early January, our team takes on a six week, intense build season. We ship our (hopefully) completed robot to the regional competition site and we don't see it again until competition time. The build season is long and hard, but we always manage to have a lot of fun! Please explore our website and find more stuff out about Team 1533 and the other amazing, and quite strange, Triple Strange programs. Read more about our history... We partner with local elementary schools to develop programs to foster interest in STEM principles and participate in multiple outreach events to show FIRST Robotics to the community. We also constantly plan new ways to take part in the community and get the word out about FIRST by mentoring two FTC teams and a Jr. FLL team. Our team is proud of the recognition we’ve received to include Regional Judges Award (2009 & 2007, 2006) and the Regional Engineering Inspiration Award (2008). Our Mechanical and Safety Mentor won the NC Regional Woodie Flowers award; he is an inspiration to all of us. Our awards have recognized not just Team 1533’s strength in building a robot, but our community service and outreach efforts to encourage youth interest in science and technology.
