DepartmentsMechanical: Responsible for the construction of the robot including brainstorming, 3D design to create CAD drawings, fabrication and assembly. The entire team takes part in brainstorming, but the mechanical department leads the effort and considers the feasibility of the design. Programming: Includes sensors, gyros and computers necessary for the robot. Programming typically uses Java, an object-oriented language. Electrical: Connects jaguars, C-RIOs, motors, servos and other electronics, bridging the gap between mechanical and programming. Marketing: Responsible for Team 1533's image. The Marketing department markets Team 1533 to the community. During build season, Marketing prepares for competition by creating brochures, banners and handouts. During competition, Marketing promotes the Team with pit design, handouts, mascots and other activities. Outreach: Organizes the team's participation in the community throughout the entire year. Through outreach, the team gains new member interest and support from the community while giving back with community service. Strategy: Develops and recommends game strategy. During build season, Strategy prepares for competition by analyzing every aspect of the game challenge, developing the Team plan and organizing the necessary tools to promote the Team's robot at the competition. During the competition, Strategy leads the effort to gather information, take statistics about the other team robots, and analyze and recommend potential alliances for the Team. Safety: Works year round to ensure the safety of all team members. Safety ensures that all Team members receive Safety Training and document the completion of Safety Training, the team facility is kept organized, and all safety rules are visibly posted and followed at all times to include in the build facility, participating in any community/outreach events, and at competitions. Additionally, Safety organizes the pit for competition. Drive Team: Added to leadership during competition while others take part in Pit activities, scouting and other activities deemed necessary for a successful competition. |
